Edit a patient's details

Editing a patient's details

Open the patient's record and choose Edit details. Everything here is grouped together — identity, contact information, and how they'd like to be communicated with — so you can review it all in one pass.

Identity

Full name, preferred name, date of birth, sex, gender identity, and pronouns all live here. A preferred name is shown throughout ClinyPal instead of their legal first name wherever one is set, so staff and any messages use the name the patient actually goes by.

Contact information

Keep phone, email, address, occupation, time zone, and an emergency contact current here. Accurate contact details are what make reminders and other messages actually reach the patient.

Communication preferences

Each message type — appointment confirmations, reminders, cancellation emails, appointment notes, and marketing messages — can be switched on or off individually for this patient, alongside their privacy policy consent and referring doctor.

Save, and see what changed

Choose Save changes when you're done. If you ever need to check what was updated and by whom, select the Last edited by note above the details to open the full change history for this patient.
