Creating an invoice
You can start an invoice from the patient you're billing, from an appointment on the calendar, or straight from the invoice list. However you get there, the process is the same: pick the patient, add what they're being charged for, and save.
Start the invoice
From the invoice list, choose New Invoice and search for the patient. If you're starting from an appointment, ClinyPal already knows the patient and practitioner and opens straight into a new invoice for them.
Add what they're being billed for
Select Add item and choose Service, Product, or Free text for a one-off charge that isn't in your catalogue. Search for and pick the item, or type a description for a free-text line. If the patient has a concession assigned and the item has a concession price, the reduced rate is applied automatically and shown next to the line.
Adjust the quantity, unit price, or a per-line discount percentage before adding it, in case this particular invoice needs something different from the standard price.
Add as many lines as the patient needs. Each one shows its quantity, price, any discount, and whether tax applies, and the invoice totals update as you go.
Apply a promotion
If a promotion is running and the invoice qualifies, select Add promotion and choose it from the list. Promotions that don't apply to this invoice are shown but can't be selected, along with the reason why.
Attach a case, if this clinic uses them
If the patient has an open case, you can link the invoice to it by choosing it from the optional case list. This keeps the case's running total and appointment count accurate as you bill against it.
Save, or save and take payment
Add a note if you want something to appear on the printed or emailed invoice. Then either save the invoice to collect payment later, or choose Go to payment to take a payment right away.
Choosing Go to payment takes you straight to recording the payment for this invoice.
