Many patients are connected to each other — a parent and child, a couple, siblings who all attend your clinic. Linking them together on their records means anyone looking at one patient can quickly see who else in your patient list they're connected to, without having to search or ask.

Open the patient's details and choose Edit. Under Related patients, search for the other patient by name and select them from the list.

Searching for a patient to link as related.
1

Search for the patient

Start typing their name in the Related patients search box. Matching patients appear with their date of birth to help you pick the right one.

2

Choose the relationship

Once added, set what they are to this patient — Parent, Child, Spouse, Sibling, Friend, Relative, or Other.

3

Save changes

The link is saved along with the rest of the patient's details.

Add it from both sides if you want it both ways Linking a child to their parent shows up on the child's record, but it won't automatically appear on the parent's record as well. If you want the connection visible from both patients, add the related link separately on each one — for example, add the parent as related on the child's record, then add the child as related on the parent's record.

While editing the patient's details, select the remove icon next to a related patient to take it off, then save. This only removes it from the record you're editing — if it was also added the other way round, remove it from the other patient's record too.
