What this page does

Practitioner Settings (/settings/user-practitioner/edit-user/{userQuery}/practitioner-setting/) configures how a specific practitioner works within scheduling: their weekly availability, whether they show up in the online scheduler, and their default appointment type.

What you'll learn
 • How weekly availability toggles reveal time ranges and breaks
 • How the online booking section changes depending on whether it's enabled for this practitioner
 • Why turning off "Is a practitioner?" opens a deactivation modal instead of saving immediately
 • How the default appointment type list is limited to services the practitioner actually provides

Weekly availability

Each day of the week has its own Available toggle.

Time ranges and breaks only show once a day is available The time-range selects and the Break button for adding a break only appear for a given day once that day's Available toggle is switched on. The break list under a day only shows if that day is both available and already has one or more breaks added.
1

Turn on Available for a day

Switch the day's Available toggle on. Its time-range selects and Break button appear.

2

Set the working hours

Use the time-range selects to set when the practitioner works that day.

3

Add a break, if needed

Click Break to add a break window within that day. The break list appears under the day once at least one break is added.

4

Repeat for each working day

Configure each day independently.

5

Save

Save your changes to apply the new availability.

Online booking visibility

This section reflects whether online booking is enabled for this practitioner at the location level, and its content changes depending on that state.

StateWhat you see
Online booking not enabled for this practitioner at this locationAn info banner reading "Online booking is inactive" with a help link. The "Show in online scheduler" toggle is hidden.
Online booking enabled for this practitioner at this locationThe "Show in online scheduler" toggle, which controls whether this practitioner appears as bookable in the public scheduler.
Enabling online booking happens elsewhere first The "Show in online scheduler" toggle only appears once online booking is enabled for this practitioner at the location level. If you're seeing the "Online booking is inactive" banner, use its help link to find where that's configured before returning here.

Turning off "Is a practitioner?"

This doesn't save immediately Switching "Is a practitioner?" off does not save right away. It opens a Practitioner Deactivation Modal first, so you can handle their upcoming appointments — reassigning them to another practitioner or cancelling them — before the change goes through.
1

Turn off "Is a practitioner?"

Switch the toggle off. The Practitioner Deactivation Modal opens.

2

Resolve upcoming appointments

In the modal, choose how to handle the practitioner's upcoming appointments — reassign them to someone else or cancel them.

3

Complete the modal

Finish the modal's steps to proceed with the rest of the save.

Cancelling the modal reverts the toggle If you close or cancel the Practitioner Deactivation Modal without completing it, the "Is a practitioner?" toggle reverts back to on. Deactivation only takes effect if you complete the modal.

Default appointment type

The Default appointment type dropdown chooses which appointment type is pre-selected when booking for this practitioner.

Limited to services this practitioner provides The dropdown only lists appointment types the practitioner is currently marked as providing, under "Services this practitioner provides." If you deselect a service that was the chosen default, the default selection is cleared and needs to be set again from what remains.
