What SMS Settings controls

The SMS Settings page is a single scrolling page covering everything related to your clinic's SMS credit: your current balance, where SMS replies get forwarded, and options to keep your balance topped up automatically.

SMS credit is separate from your subscription

A separate prepaid pool SMS credit is a prepaid balance you top up on its own — it's not included in or drawn from your ClinyPal subscription plan. Your subscription covers access to the software; SMS credit covers the cost of sending text messages.

Checking your SMS credit balance

The balance card at the top of the page shows how much SMS credit your clinic currently has available. Keep an eye on it, since running out of credit will stop outgoing SMS messages — including automated appointment confirmations, reminders, and cancellation notices — until you top up.

Reply forwarding

When a patient replies to an SMS from your clinic, reply forwarding controls where that reply goes. Configure this so incoming replies reach the right staff member or inbox instead of going unanswered.

Auto top-up

Auto top-up automatically purchases more SMS credit when your balance drops below a threshold you set, so you don't need to top up manually or risk running out.

Fields dim when Auto top-up is off When the Auto top-up toggle is off, the Top up when balance below and Amount to top up fields stay visible but appear dimmed — they're not removed, just inactive. Turn the toggle on to enable and edit them.

Turn on Auto top-up

Switch the Auto top-up toggle on. Its threshold and amount fields become active.

Set the threshold

Enter a value in Top up when balance below — the balance that triggers a top-up.

Set the top-up amount

Enter a value in Amount to top up — how much credit to purchase each time the threshold is hit.

Save your changes

Click Save to apply the settings.

Low-balance reminder

If you'd rather top up manually, the low-balance reminder notifies you when your SMS credit is running low instead of topping up automatically.

Fields dim when Low-balance reminder is off When the Low-balance reminder toggle is off, its Remind me when below threshold field stays visible but appears dimmed. Turn the toggle on to enable and edit it.
