Where account credit comes from
You don't create account credit as a separate step. It builds up naturally — most often when a patient pays more than an invoice needs and the difference is kept on their account, ready to use next time. Whenever that happens, it shows up straight away on the patient's account summary.
Check a patient's account summary
Open the patient's record and go to their Account summary. Along the top you'll see their current balance, any credit available, their opening balance, and their last payment at a glance.
See how old any balance is
Below the summary, an aging breakdown splits what's outstanding into current, 1–60 days, 61–90 days, and 90+ days, so you can see at a glance whether this patient's balance is fresh or has been sitting a while.
Read the full statement
Underneath, the account activity ledger lists every charge and credit for the last 90 days, with a running balance after each line, so you can trace exactly how the current figure was reached. Select Print statement if the patient needs a copy.
Using the credit
Available credit is offered automatically the next time you take a payment from this patient — you choose how much of it to apply, and it comes straight off what they owe.
