How ClinyPal uses AI
ClinyPal uses AI, built on Cloudflare's AI infrastructure, in a handful of specific places across the product. In every case, the job of the AI is the same: take data ClinyPal has already computed for real, and make it easier to read at a glance, or help you draft a routine message faster. AI is never used to invent numbers, and it's never used to replace clinical judgment.
This article is the starting point for the AI Features category. It explains the design philosophy shared by every AI feature in ClinyPal once, so the other articles in this category can reference it briefly instead of re-explaining it each time.

The six AI features
These are every place AI currently appears in ClinyPal. Each has its own article with full detail.
- AI Assistant in Support Chat — answers your questions by searching ClinyPal's own help content, right from the Support widget.
- Dashboard AI Summary — one or two plain-language sentences above your Clinic Health Index, summarizing how the clinic is doing.
- "Explain This Number" on Reports — a one-sentence, plain-language explanation behind any KPI tile on any report.
- AI Suggested Filters & Observations on Reports — tappable filter chips and short observation notes that appear after a report loads.
- "Generate with AI" for Messages — drafts SMS templates, broadcast content, and invoice notice emails for you to review and send.
- AI Visit Summary in Telehealth — turns a call's transcript into a structured clinical summary for the doctor to review before saving.
The design philosophy: optional enrichment, fails soft
Every AI feature in ClinyPal is built on the same two principles.
AI is optional enrichment, not a data source
AI never generates the underlying data you rely on. It's layered on top of numbers, records, or transcripts that ClinyPal has already computed or captured through its normal, non-AI processes. AI's job is to summarize, explain, phrase, or draft — never to produce a figure of its own. Where a feature involves anything number-like (the Dashboard summary, report explanations, report observations), the AI is either kept away from raw numbers entirely or its output is checked before it's ever shown to you.
AI fails soft
If an AI call fails, times out, or isn't configured, the surrounding feature keeps working. You'll either see a quiet fallback (a canned sentence, a "couldn't load" message) or the AI-only element simply won't appear — but the core feature it's attached to, whether that's your Dashboard, a report, a message editor, or a telehealth call, is never blocked or broken by an AI failure.
There's no customer-facing AI toggle
ClinyPal doesn't currently have a settings page where you can turn AI features on or off. Whether a given AI feature is active for your clinic is controlled by server-side configuration, not by anything in your account settings.
