Why these formats exist

A CSV file works well for a spreadsheet, but clinical systems often expect data in a standard healthcare format so it can be read and understood automatically, without someone manually mapping columns on the other end. ClinyPal supports two of the most common: HL7 v2 and FHIR.

When to use which

FormatUse it when
CSVYou need a spreadsheet, or you're importing into a system that isn't clinical-specific.
HL7 v2You're exchanging with an older or established clinical system that expects the HL7 v2 message format.
FHIRYou're exchanging with a modern clinical system or platform built around the FHIR standard.

Exporting in one of these formats

From Export data, choose your data type and date range as usual, then select HL7 v2 or FHIR instead of CSV under export format.

Check with the receiving system first

Confirm the expected format before exporting If you're migrating to or integrating with another clinical system, check which format it expects and, if relevant, which version. Sending the wrong format means starting the export again.
